has more about this teacher in trouble. oakland police are investigating a shooting tonight. that reportedly occurred on an east bay freeway. it happened around 3-pm. the victim says, he was shot along highway 580.near high street. after the shooting. the victim apparently drove to the area around highland hospital. and walked in the hospital. he was treated there for a wound on his elbow. police do not know the circumstances behind the shooting. and it is unclear whether the victim and shooter knew one another. no arrests have been made. police are investigating the connection between a burned body that was found outside an oakland apartment this past weekend. and the woman who was killed inside the apartment a month ago. 77- year- old susan fong was found dead inside her apartment, after an alleged home invasion. her nephew, richard fang, was home at the time. and claimed the intruders got away. police confirmed the charred body. found outside the apartment early saturday morning is richard fang's. they tell us, his death appears to be a suicide. are holding a protest in oakland. this is happening at a mcdonald's restaurant on 12th street in the fruitvale district and it all follows class action lawsuits in three states including california. kpix 5 reporter mark kelly is at the scene of the protest right now. mark? >> reporter: that's right michelle. the issue here for workers is they say mcdonald's has not been paying them specifically for overtime that they worked and now a class action lawsuit has been filed in three different states. all across the country. now this mcdonald's here in fruitvale has actually been friendly to these protestors this morning. allowing them inside to let their voice be heard. here's a little bit from the rally earlier. [ people chanting ] the workers charged mcdonald's with committing wage theft. forcing workers to work off the clock and not spay overtime. -- pay overtime. even accusing mcdonald's of erasing the overtime on their time sheets. now the class action lawsuits have been filed in three states. california, new york, and michigan. but plaintiffs say mcdonald's is just the start of this effort. t
